Vacancy Details: Sports Disciplines
BSF has released a total of 549 vacancies, covering a wide range of sports.
- Individual Events: Archery, Athletics (100m to Marathon, Jumps, Throws), Boxing, Judo, Gymnastics, Swimming, Shooting, Weightlifting, Wrestling (Free Style & Greco Roman), Wushu, Taekwondo, Bodybuilding (Weight categories apply).
- Team Sports: Basketball, Football, Hockey, Kabaddi, Volleyball, Handball, Sepak Takraw, Water Polo.
- Other Sports: Cycling, Equestrian, Fencing, Rowing/Water Sports, Yoga.
Note: The number of vacancies is tentative and BSF reserves the right to increase or decrease them.
Eligibility Criteria for BSF Sports Quota Recruitment 2026
To apply for the Constable (GD) post, candidates must meet the following age, educational, and sports qualification standards.
1. Educational Qualification
Candidates must have passed Matriculation (10th Class) or its equivalent from a recognized board.
2. Age Limit (As on 01-08-2025)
- Minimum Age: 18 Years
- Maximum Age: 23 Years
Age Relaxation:
- SC/ST: 5 Years relaxation.
- OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 Years relaxation.
- Note: Only the Matriculation certificate will be accepted as proof of age.
3. Sports Qualification
Candidates must be meritorious sportspersons who have participated or won medals in recognized International or National competitions.
- Qualifying Period: The sports achievement must be between 15/01/2024 to 15/01/2026.
- Eligible Achievements:
- International: Participation or winning medals in tournaments recognized by the IOC, IOA, or Ministry of Youth Affairs.
- National: Winning medals in National Games, Senior National Championships, Youth/Junior National Championships representing the State/UT or Sports Control Board.

Candidates must meet the physical requirements laid down by the BSF.

Selection Process
The selection will be purely based on sports merit and physical fitness. There is no written examination mentioned in the standard procedure for this specific quota notification. The stages include:
- Online Application Scrutiny: Candidates qualifying preliminary scrutiny will be issued admit cards.
- Physical Verification of Documents: Verification of original age, education, caste, and sports certificates.
- Physical Standard Test (PST): Measurement of Height, Chest, and Weight.
- Detailed Medical Examination (DME): To assess medical fitness as per MHA guidelines.
Merit List: The final merit list will be drawn based on marks awarded for sports achievements (Gold/Silver/Bronze medals or participation level). For example, a Gold Medal in the Olympics carries 100 marks, while a Gold in National Games carries 30 marks.
