APSC Recruitment 2026 : The Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) has officially released a new notification (Advt. No. 33/2025) for the recruitment of Members in the State and District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commissions. The application process begins on 18th December 2025.

As per the official notification, a total of 35 posts are available.
1. Member of Assam State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission
- No. of Posts: 01 (Open Category)
- Location: Guwahati
2. Member of District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission
No. of Posts: 34
2 Posts each: Darrang, Dhemaji, Bongaigaon, Barpeta, Lakhimpur, Karbi Anglong, Nalbari, Sivasagar, Dhubri, Kokrajhar, Kamrup, Hailakandi, Dima Hasao, Cachar.
1 Post each: Goalpara, Morigaon, Tinsukia, Nagaon, Sribhumi, Golaghat.
(Note: Candidates applying for the District Commission Member post can select any 3 districts of preference).
Pay Scale
The selected candidates will receive a handsome salary scale under Pay Band-4.
- State Commission Member: Rs. 30,000/- to Rs. 1,10,000/- with Grade Pay Rs. 17,500/-.
- District Commission Member: Rs. 30,000/- to Rs. 1,10,000/- with Grade Pay Rs. 15,700/-.
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must fulfill the following eligibility conditions to apply for APSC Recruitment 2025.
Educational Qualification
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s Degree from a UGC-recognized university.
Important: The degree must be obtained through Regular Mode. Candidates with degrees from Distance Learning are NOT eligible.
Experience Required
Applicants must have at least 10 years of professional experience in fields such as Consumer Affairs, Law, Public Affairs, Administration, Economics, Commerce, Industry, Finance, Management, Engineering, Technology, Public Health, or Medicine.
Age Limit
- For State Commission Member: Not less than 40 years.
- For District Commission Member: Not less than 35 years.
- Age will be calculated as of 1st January 2025.

How to Apply APSC Recruitment 2026
- Candidates must apply online through the APSC recruitment portal: https://apscrecruitment.in
- New users must complete One-Time Registration (OTR) before applying.
- Applicants must upload scanned copies of required documents (DOB, educational certificates, caste certificate, PwBD certificate if applicable, etc.).
- A recent passport-size photograph and signature must be uploaded.
- Applicants are advised to fill out the form carefully and verify before final submission.
Selection Process
The selection will be based on a competitive examination consisting of three stages:
- Paper-I: Objective Type & OMR Based (100 Marks, 2 Hours). Topics include GK, Current Affairs, Constitution of India, and Consumer Laws.
- Paper-II: Descriptive Type (100 Marks, 3 Hours). Includes Essay writing and Case Study analysis. (Only candidates securing 50+ marks in Paper-I will sit for Paper-II).
- Viva-Voce: Interview round for shortlisted candidates.
